Bueller?...Bueller?...Bueller?

On October 31st, 2008 we are recreating the parade scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off at the Village Halloween Parade. This will involve tens of thousands of people breaking out into the world's largest Beatles sing-a-long.

We want the streets to erupt in joy and for it to be one of the greatest experiences of everyone's lives.

We will need thousands of secret audience agents to get the ball rolling by imitating the extras in the scene and inspiring your neighbors in the audience to do the same.

We believe first and foremost in the power of joy and hope to celebrate this principle with you everyday for the rest of our collective lives.

TRAINING PLAN

WHERE: Along W Broadway between W Houston and Grand

WHEN: September 6th, starts at 4:00 p.m.

Preparation Suggestions

AUGUST 14-25

Keep watching the clip and practicing, preferably in front of your window or on a dock down by the river at sunset.

AUGUST 26th

This exercise is called “What would Ferris do?”

The way it works is this: Approach each task of the day with the above question in the forefront of your mind and act accordingly.  Continue to do this for the rest of your life.

AUGUST 27TH

Now you have the proper character training and are officially in it to win it. Go out and celebrate tonight!

Hey, maybe you should attend the DISCO we are throwing at the Glasslands Gallery in Brooklyn. There is a $5 cover for admission because we couldn’t find the float and sound equipment section at Salvation Army.

AUGUST 28TH

It’s only August 28th, but September 6th is rapidly approaching. Maybe your muscles are still sore from the disco, that’s ok.

If you wake up in the middle of the night and have to go to the bathroom, hold it. You will want to move as little as possible for this next week to conserve your energy for your part in the performance.

AUGUST 29th-SEPTEMBER 5th

As you were. Do whatever you feel like doing.

SEPTEMBER 6th

3:30 p.m. Arrive in your costume with your group of costumed accomplices on the block of your choice between W. Broadway and Grand. You are a bit early so you can get a good spot in the front.

3:45 p.m. Give someone a high five.

4:00 - 5:00 p.m. You see the float approaching. Dance like it’s the greatest day of your life.
