This is it everybody! GO-TIME!!! Grab your Gatorade, your Cliff Bars, and text message your crush to meet you there.

When and where to show up?

If you want to be an audience agent, we recommend you arriving early to get a good spot. This means 6:00 if you are near the beginning (Spring and 6^th Ave) and 8:00 if you are near the end (21^st and 6^th Ave). Where you and your friends decide to station yourselves is up to you. (Do what you feel like doing!!….Except jumping the police barricades, don’t do that, instead show up early and march with us. See below!)

The TV Crews are stationed at 10^th and 6^th Ave and even though we’ll be repeating the routine throughout the path, we’re really going to rock the shit out of this block in particular. You should probably stake out good spots there as early as 6pm.

If you want to be part of the float crew, (this is open to the Beer Maid Brigade, the Stair Dancers, and anyone who feels like they have exceptionally captured the essence of a character from the film) Arrive between 6-6:30 pm at Broome and 6th Ave and find our float on 6th Ave between Broome and Spring - give the password “Ferris Bueller” and you will be let into the area

Hello Compadres, This is it! Finally, that day, yes, it’s today! We are gonna rock the shit out this city. Whether you’ve been following us all along or you’ve just gotten the news, we love that you are into it. So now what are you gonna do? You are going to go totally freaking crazy when you see us.

You can either march with us or stake out your own spot somewhere (anywhere) in the crowd. In either case, your existence rules!!!

Watch the scene, you’ll know what to do. When in doubt: fist pump and ass wiggle. IT’S SO EASY!! And bring balloons. Because once you study the scene, you’ll notice, there’s like woooooaaaaah so many Ballooons. GET SOME. Bring them. It would bring us joy. But we’ll still love you regardless.

Although there is a beautifully hand-written version of this note currently scotch taped to Matthew Broderick’s door, we thought we’d unleash it on the world wide web, in case we guessed the wrong door.

Dear Matthew Broderick,

In 1986, you made a movie that has been the standing template for cool since the day it was released. It has inspired and given people the courage to rock and roll and live authentically, a principle we would now like to celebrate in a most festive fashion this Friday night.

At 7:00 pm in the middle of 6th Ave, we are recreating the parade scene from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off as a part of the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade. We’ve got a 28 ft float, over 1,000 volunteers, balloons, sound equipment, and a whole entire marching band. There are no corporate ties to the event and it’s mostly just a group of friends looking to cultivate massive amounts of positive energy and for everyone to have an epically good time.

Our mission is to get everyone on the streets of NYC dancing until we reach or surpass the approximate enjoyment level of the original scene. We’ve been working hard to get all the pieces in place to give us the best chances of accomplishing this, and would now like to invite you to help us make this happen!!

Your role, if you choose to accept it, is to take over the float for one lip synching rendition of Twist & Shout in front of the TV camera crews stationed at 10th St & 6th Ave. With your brilliant coup, the crowd will absolutely go wild and NYC will erupt into one of the greatest and most joyous celebrations in the history of celebration in general.

Please let us know if you’re up for it. 2 million people are anticipated to view the event and would outrageously enjoy seeing you.

Q: When and where should be we show up?

Q: May we wear costumes that are not associated with Project Bueller?

Of course you can, as long as go totally ballistic and dance like you got ants in yo pants when you hear us coming.

Q: How can I dance upon those stairs?

There are no stairs immediately along the parade path that would suit this, but the float is nicely equipped with it’s own set of stairs. We are thinking we prepare a stair dance routine that we’ll pull out for the TV Crew stop at 10^th and 6^th Ave.

If you want to be a part of this, come to rehearsal, and be ready for line-up at 5pm on the big day so that we can practice on the float while we prepare for glory.

Q: How can I be a Beer Maid?

Get the dress (see below posting), Come to Rehearsal, Party. We would like to have as large a Beer Maid Brigade as possible so as to fill the float and surrounding road with dirndl-ed awesomeness. We’ll take turns on the float, so we’ll each get to go through the routine with Ferris.

Q: When and where is rehearsal?

Rehearsal will be this Sunday (10/26) from 6-8pm at The South 4th Bar, located on S 4th St and Berry in Williamsburg. There is a make-up rehearsal on the following Wednesday (10/29) from 7-830pm, at the same location.

Extra notes about rehearsal: It’s in the back room of the bar where we’ll be playing the scene on a big screen and going over it, and over it and over it. Please come dressed as your part. It will be a feast for the eyes, and a freaking blast!! (BONUS: S. 4^th St bar is a traditional bar in the sense that it has beer!!!)

Q: Is rehearsal mandatory for the float crew?

Whatever. Everyone is welcome to dress the part and march with us, but if you want to get on the float for the big TV Spot, you better come and rehearse with us. It will be fun!!!

Q: I heard there is going to be a Marching Band, is that true?

A: Well yes there is, thanks for asking. The Brooklyn Steppers will ROCK you.

Q: Do you have a float?

A: Yes, and it’s huge.

Your Mission: is to check your e-mail next week, where your mission will be revealed.

Project Bueller: Team Huddle II

Dear everyone who has emailed us to dance upon some stairs or be a part of the Beer Maid Brigade,

Firstly, get ready to rock!!!

Secondly, rehearsal will be this Sunday at 6pm, and a make-up rehearsal on the following Wednesday, also at 7, for anyone that can’t make it on Sunday evening.

Thirdly, costumes. Ladies, you’ll be wearing a the dress above. It’s hot. And more conservative looking in real life. So no worries!

Gentlemen, check out what the ladies are wearing!!

(It’s called the Gretchen and it can be found at Party City, New York Costume, Abracadabra, and maybe Ricky’s. It comes with thigh highs. eyebrow raise!)

Stair dancers, you’ll be wearing bright colored t-shirts and the most bad ass 80’s jeans you can find/steal from your parents. Regular jeans would work too, but the more awkward looking the better!!

I will email you tomorrow with specific info, regarding the location where we will practice our secret dance moves. And possibly look into the beer part of the Beer Maid outfits.

And everyone else, stay tuned. Some very important info is coming…I’ll release a hint now: balloons!!!

Dear Friends in Ferris,

This Halloween you already know what you will be DOING: you will be bringing Bueller into the hearts of thousands. You will be promoting the power of joy, love and party.
What’s more important than this? Obviously, what you’re WEARING. This is America, after all.
So how will you dress to bring a Bueller parade extra to life?
A killer option is the man pictured below. His name is MIKE. (Like I even had to tell you that.) Now Mike is what you’d call a “good guy.” He’s got your back. He fixes his own car.
However, Mike can err on the side of stoicism and reservation, holding back his inner joy for the sake of masculine pride. But just watch what happens when you take this salt-of-the-earth, good ole Chicago boy and inject “Twist and Shout” into the air. This quiet-type lets go of his sense of self and allows Bueller to possess his body.
